PURPOSE:To sharply improve a picture quality for an animation compared with a conventional one at the time of converting an interlaced scanning signal into a sequential scanning signal. CONSTITUTION:The first field and second field of an input interlaced scanning signal are synthesized, and a frame signal is obtained by a switch 2, 1/60 second delay 3, 1/2 time compression circuits 4-1 and 4-2, and switch 5. In the animation, the frame signal is separated into vertical low pass components and vertical high pass components by a vertical low pass filter 6 and a vertical high pass filter 7. Then, the vertical low pass components are converted into twofold frame frequency by a frame repetition processing by a 1/60 second delay 15 and a switch 16. The vertical high pass components are frequency-shifted to the vertical low pass by a polarity inversion circuit 9, switch 10, 1/60 second delay 15, and switch 16, converted into the twofold frame frequency by the frame repetition processing, and frequency-shifted also to a temporal high pass. Then, the animation system signals operated by the above processing are synthesized, and allowed to appear at an output terminal 18. |
