MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To automatically attach and detach a data cartridge by completely mounting this data cartridge into the magnetic recording and reproducing device which executes recording and reproducing of data by using the data cartridge. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a loading means 34 which mounts the data cartridge by moving a housing tray 33 held by the data cartridge into a body 32 by means of a driving motor 51 for tape driving and draws out the data cartridge up to an insertion position at the time of ejection. The device is also provided with a changeover means 36 consisting of a solenoid 61 for changing over the driving motor 51 to driving of the data cartridge or driving of the loading means 34.
