<p>PURPOSE:To provide an image forming method including an electrification process which prevents electrification defect due to contamination or scratches with the developer on an electrification member or the surface of a body to be electrified. CONSTITUTION:An electrifying member having the surface layer consisting of polyester resin with 0.3-2.5mum center line average roughness is used. The magnetic toner containing magnetic iron oxide used in this method has the following properties. (1) The weight average particle size is <=13.5mum in the distribution of particle size of the magnetic toner, and 50wt.% of the toner is particles having >=12.7mum particle size. (2) The amt. of silicon atoms in the magnetic iron oxide is 0.5-4wt.% of the iron atoms. The amt.(B) of silicon atom present in a 20wt.% dissolution rate of iron atom in the magnetic iron oxide and the amt.(A) of silicon atom in the magnetic iron oxide satisfy B/A = 44 to 84%. The amt.(C) of silicon atom present in the surface of the magnetic iron oxide satisfies C/A=10-55%.</p> |
