PURPOSE: To provide a naturally shaded real image by shading the three- dimensional surface of image while considering positive and negative light sources. CONSTITUTION: A light/shadow control means 16 calculates luminance levels at all the points on the three-dimensional surface according to position signals and change information expressing the positions of positive and negative light sources supplied from a control means 14. An adding means 2 controls the luminance level of input video signal according to the intensity calculated by the light/shadow control means 16. The light/shadow control means 16 also calculates depth shadow formation value data according to depth information supplied from the control means 14. The depth shadow forming means 8 controls the level of input key signal so that the key signal can have depth information expressing a depth effect as well. The luminance controlled image from the adding means 2 is supplied to a filter means 4 and an output video signal from the filter means 4 is supplied to an input frame memory 6 for conversion. Thus, the shadow really similar to the converted image can be prepared. |
