The support is positioned at the rear of the waste truck. It uses a platform (2) with a folding guard plate (5) arranged on one of its edges parallel to the edge of the hopper (1) opening. The platform can be moved between two positions. In the first, active working or transport position, the base (3) of the platform forms a foot plate at the level of the floor of the hopper. In a second, inactive position, it is arranged under the chassis or along one of its exterior side walls.
