<p>A laminate comprises (a) a fabric adhered to (b) a microporous polymeric substrate, in which the laminate contains an organic polymer with recurring pendant fluorinated side chains applied from an aq. dispersion in which the polymer particles in the dispersion have an average particle size of 0.01 to 0.1 microns. The microporous structure is formed by nodes interconnected with fibrils. The organic polymer is present in the microporous polymer layer and/or the fabric. The organic polymer is crosslinked and is chosen from fluoroalkyl (meth)acrylate, fluoroalkyl aryl urethane, fluoroalkyl allyl urethane, fluoroalkyl maleic acid ester, fluoroalkyl urethane acrylate, fluoroalkyl acrylamide or fluoroalkyl sulphonamide acrylate. Pref. the polymer has recurring units derived from a monomer of formula (I): CF3(CF2)n(CH2)m-OCO-CR=CH2 (I) where R = H or CH3; n = 1-21; and m = 1-10.</p> |
