PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup, and a assembling method thereof, in which the light projecting/receiving section is secured accurately with an inexpensive sheet metal carriage and environmental fluctuation is suppressed. SOLUTION: The optical pickup comprises a box type carriage 12 made of a sheet metal, a pair of pieces 31 formed by raising a part of the bottom plate of the carriage 12, and a light projecting/receiving section disposed between the raised pieces 31 through a specified interval. The light projecting/ receiving section is subjected to positional adjustment and secured through an adhesive 13 to the raised pieces 31. |
