PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict friction between fiber bundles following belt running and improve bending fatigue resistance in a belt tension resistance body made of cord braid formed out of four Aramid fiber bundles of the same yarn count and forming a ratio of the diameter of cord braid to a braided pitch so as to satisfy the characteristic relationship. SOLUTION: A solid forging braid 11 as a belt tension resistance body is fabricated by applying four Aramid fiber bundles 12 of the same yarn count to a braiding machine, a ratio p/d of a diameter d of a cord braid 11 to a braided pitch p is set to meet the relationship of 3.7<=p/d<=5.5, and an Aramid fiber bundle in the range of 700 to 1,300de is used. A timing belt 21 is provided with such cord braid 11 as a tension resistance body, a rear rubber part 22 continuously provided over the entire circumference of the belt is bound on the outer circumference side of this tension resistance body 11, and a number of tooth rubber parts 23 arranged at a specified pitch in the belt longitudinal direction is bound on the inner circumference side of the tension resistance body 11.
