<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video telephone system capable of attaining desired image constitution from the start of communication in accordance with a communication partner in the communication with the video telephone system. <P>SOLUTION: A terminal equipment detection means 1a detects information required for specifying the video telephone system of the communication partner from received information. On the basis of the information, an image arrangement selection means 4 selects image arrangement information correlated to the communication partner.
