<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for surely preventing earth and sand containing water from entering the inside of a resin pipe joint from a gap between the resin pipe joint and a resin pipe and for always keeping the function of the pipe and a method for fitting it extremely easily at the site of construction. SOLUTION: The outer peripheral surface of a resin pipe and the end surface of a pipe joint are sealed together by a mud-removing thin seal ring 5 of inverted L-shaped cross section which comprises a pipe contact surface 51 whose original inner diameter is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of a resin pipe 1 and a joint contact surface 52 which extends from the pipe contact surface 51 in the axial direction of the pipe and whose inner diameter is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the end surface 22 of the slanting cylindrical body 21 of a resin pipe joint 2. The fitting procedure of the seal ring 5 is as follows: the seal ring 5 is turned inside out to make both contact surfaces face upward and is fitted on the resin pipe such that the pipe contact surface is positioned on the joint side, that is, it is positioned in a normal L-shape and then is moved to a connection line to butt the tip of the pipe contact surface against the end surface of the joint and then is turned inside out into an inverted L-shape. The pipe contact surface is put into close contact with the outer peripheral surface of the resin pipe by the elastic deformation and the joint contact surface is also put into close contact with the outer peripheral surface 23 of the end of the resin pipe joint by the elastic deformation, which prevents earth and sand or water outside the pipe from entering the inside of the resin pipe joint.</p> |
