PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording and reproducing device that can eject a card without damaging the card or device when the power source is turned off in a card loaded state and then turned on. SOLUTION: After a process (S1) for initializing parameters in a CPU is performed after the power source is turned on, a process (S3) for starting driving a motor 66 forming a card driving part for elevating a card is performed, and it is judged whether or not the IC chip of the card is separated from an IC chip connector through a judging process (S5) for nondetection of a sensor 69 and a judging process (S6) for detection of the sensor 69, and when it is judged that the IC chip is separated, the driving of the motor is finished and a process (S10) for card ejecting operation is performed, so that the card is ejected without damaging the card or device. |
