PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a video image reproducing device by which a storage capacity of a main memory required to cache a directory of a background video image stored in a DVD is reduced. SOLUTION: A file entry registered in a directory entry table of a disk is read (step 30), and whether or not a file name denoted by ASCII codes of the read file entry is configured with '0'-'9' and 'A'-'F' only is discriminated (step 32). When the file name is configured by them only, the file name is converted into a hexadecimal number (step 32) and the converted file name, address and size are registered in a cache table of the main memory (step 34). |
