PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a sheet, which is excellent in the absorbing quality and drying characteristics of ink and satisfies the water resistance, by a method wherein the swelling quantity of an ink receiving layer and its film melting time are set to be respectively specified vaues. SOLUTION: In an ink-jet recording sheet, on at least one side of a support, an ink receiving layer, the film swelling quantity of which is set to be 20-500 cc/m<2> and the film melting time of which is set to be 10 min or more. If the film swelling quantity of the ink receiving layer is below 20 cc/m<2> , an ink capacity becomes insufficient. Further, if its film swelling quantity exceeds 500 cc/m<2> , the raising of a printed part becomes conspicuous, resulting in deteriorating the picture quality of a sheet. If the film melting time of the ink receiving layer is below 10 min, its water resistance becomes insufficient. The film swelling quality of the ink receiving layer and its film melting time can be arbitrarily controlled on the basis of the kind and build-up of a binder used in the ink receiving layer, the kind and amount of a crosslinker used, the kind and amount of a filler and the like. For example, if the build-up of the binder increases, its film swelling quantity is increased and if the crosslinker and filler increases, its film melting time is prolonged. |
