PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a modified cellulose compound excellent in adhesion to a base plate, high in flexibility, easy to be decomposd and vaporized in the case of baking the same, and useful for an ultraviolet rays curing type coating material, a photosensitive screen printing plate, etc., by reacting a cellulose with a specific isocyanate compound. SOLUTION: This modified cellulose compound is obtained by reacting (A) hydroxyl groups of a cellulose or a cellulose derivative (e.g.; a hydroxypropyl- cellylose) with (B) isocyanate groups of a compound of the formula (R<1> is H or methyl; R<2> is a 1-5C alkylene) (e.g. methacryloyloxyethylene isocyanate) in a ratio of 0.1-0.8 equivalent group (B) based on 1 equivalent group (A), in the presence of a catalyst such as an organic metal catalyst, an organic amine catalyst, etc., at 60-99 deg.C for 2-24 hr. The objective compound preferably has 8,000-500,000 weight average molecular weight, and is useful for a photo polymerizable resin composition used for a priming rib, etc., of a plasma display pannel. |
