PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the evenness of sensitivity, and to reduce the thickness of a device by shading the light from outside with a shading film, and leading the light emission of anα-ray scintillator to a photoelectric converter with a fiber-like wave length shifter, and converting the light emission to the electric signal with the photoelectric converter. SOLUTION: A shading film 3 for shading light is provided in a top surface of a case 2 of a radiation detecting part 1, and anα-ray scintillator 4 made of Zn (Ag), which includes ZnS or Ag, is provided under the shading film 3. When theα-ray transmits the shading film 3 and reacts with theα-ray scintillator 4, the light is emitted in response to the quantity of theα-ray. The light emitted by theα-ray scintillator 4 is condensed by a light guide 6, and led to a photoelectric converter 7 by a fiber-like wave length shifter 14, and the light is converted to the electric signal by the photoelectric converter 7 so as to detect theα-ray. Since the fiber-like wave length shifter 14 is provided in an end of the light guide 6, a radiation detecting part 1 is formed thin, and since the light emission of theα-ray scintillator 4 is efficiently transmitted to the photoelectric converter 7 by the fiber-like wave length shifter 14, sensitivity is secured.
