A speech valve for the trachea. A speech valve for the trachea comprises a tubular outer member with a side wall, and one or more flexible valve tongue sections (5) at openings in the tube. The valve tongues are either part of the pipe shaped inner member or individual tongue members. An interchangeable filter member (8) is located over the circumference of the tubular member, and the latter is adhered to the flange of the inner tube (6) of the tracheal channel.
