PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for preventing roll up a paper for fixing device is provided to conveniently remove rolled up paper. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a heating roller for fixing toner transcribed on a paper by heat, a pressure roller for pressing the paper to fix the toner, a sensor for sensing a paper rolled up in the pressure roller by emitting a light to the pressure roller, and engine controller for reversely rotating the pressure roller during a predetermined time when the rolled up of paper is sensed.
