PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dry cleaning composition which is effective in removing both oil-soluble dirt and water-soluble dirt from an article to be cleaned, such as clothes, and which prevents dirt from reattaching to an article by compounding a cyclic siloxane with a siloxane surfactant. SOLUTION: This composition in an amount of 100 pts.wt. is prepared preferably by compounding 80-99.99 pts.wt. cyclic siloxane with 0.01-20 pts.wt. siloxane surfactant. Still preferably, up to 10 pts.wt. water is added to the composition, A compound having a polysiloxane ring structure containing 2-20 silicon atoms in each ring is suitable as the cyclic siloxane, and the cycyic siloxane is preferably a relatively volatile substance, e.g. one having a b.p. lower than about 250 deg.C under a pressure of 760 mmHg. A polyether siloxane compound is preferable as the siloxane surfactant.
