A road network system (1) for devising the optimum traffic flow arrangement for a defined area, encompassing a plurality of existing roads having a plurality of intersecting and emerging roads. The roads have a travel side defining the direction in which the traffic may travel. The traffic can only travel in one direction on each road so that the travel direction on each road is one-way. The traffic is prevented from crossing traffic flowing in an opposite direction. Further the system provides one-way outer ring routes, the traffic of adjacent ring routes flowing in alternate directions, the adjacent outer ring routes being formed by intermediate inner ring routes merging with the traffic on both outer routes. |
