PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radial thermometer capable of easily and speedily measuring a correct temperature without requiring experience with recognition by a user that a probe is correctly directed to the eardrum. SOLUTION: When a measured temperature is within a specified range, it is determined that a probe is inserted into the ear, and level 1 is displayed. When a first maximal value of temperature measurements appears, level 2 is displayed. When a second maximal value of the temperature measurements appears, level 3 is displayed, and it is informed to a user that the optimum insertion condition is provided.
