A mobile drilling rig for drilling holes into the earth is disclosed. The mast (41) is hinged so that it can be moved from a transporting position to a drilling position. The drill drive (42) may be shifted to a position in which tools may be loaded onto and removed from the drill drive horizontally from the frame part (44) of the rig. Thus, the drill drive is placed on the side of the mast so that it is possible to gain free access to the tools and to the mast from the rig. Arrangements for moving tools to and from the drill drive may easily be implemented and the drilling process may even be partly or fully automated. The drill drive is attached to the drill drive holder with two attachments, so that it can be shifted to a position in which the drill drive pivots freely about the first attachment. The drill drive will thus be moved horizontal if the drill drive holder is rotated.
