The method involves transmitting the correct value of a signal parameter of the signal, and comparing it with one or more given threshold or reference values. An adjustment value to adjust the signal parameters towards the true value is determined, according to the relative position of the correct value of the signal parameter to the reference values for at least two different adjustment values. The adjustment values are acted on the signal parameter through an adjustment part (6.1,6.2), to control the signal parameter in the direction of the adjustment value. An independent claim is included for a circuit arrangement for implementing the method.
