PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory system capable of setting a security function for preventing unauthorized access from a host device, in an environment capable of accepting access from the host device. SOLUTION: A microprocessor 42 of a memory control device 40 can receive an input of N_Port_Name information capable of clearly identifying the host devices 10, 20 and 30, and an input of information as to which LU each host device can access. The information input is carried out by a panel 47 or by a utility program of the host device. When the host device 10, 20 or 30 accesses the LU, the upper device is identified from the N_Port_Name information included in the access command thereof and the inputted information, and compared with information as to whether the host device can access the LU or not.
