PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a reduction in the development cost of a numerical value controller capable of displaying moving picture data, a reduction in its development period and a reduction in the management cost of a data storage medium. SOLUTION: A network connection means 42 comprises a module unit including a CPU 13 and a plurality of hardware engines respectively connected to the CPU 13 through a local bus and one of the hardware engines is a communication engine 24 having a means for acquiring data by communicating with an external network apparatus 366 through a network 365. Images corresponding to data acquired from the network apparatus 366 can be displayed on a display unit 211. Consequently the development cost of the numerical value controller capable of displaying moving picture data can be reduced, its development period can be shortened and the management cost of the data storage medium can be reduced.
