CERAMIC HONEYCOMB FILTER AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain a ceramic honeycomb filter where space is certain to be formed in the upstream side of an exhaust gas of inflow side sealing portion in producing the honeycomb filter in whose structure the sealing portion of an exhaust gas inflow side is placed inside the filter from the end of the exhaust gas inflow side of the honeycomb filter and especially placed in the position of 10 mm or more from the end of the exhaust gas inflow side of the honeycomb filter.

SOLUTION: In the ceramic honeycomb filter that joins a plurality of ceramic honeycomb structures with many flow passages separated by partitions and seals an optional flow passage, a sealing portion formed on the end face of at least one honeycomb structure is joined with at least one part of the sealing portion formed on the end face of the honeycomb structure adjacent to the end of the honeycomb structure.
