DOCUMENT CONVEYANCE DEVICE AND DOCUMENT AUTOMATIC READING DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document conveyance device capable of reducing collision sound as much as possible caused when a pick-up roller lowers and comes into contact with the uppermost face of a document on a document tray and securely preventing blurring in reading a document in a document reading part which is caused by load fluctuation of drive current due to connection and disconnection operation of an electromagnetic clutch and to provide a document automatic reading device using it.

SOLUTION: The pick-up roller R1 is stepwise lowered by four time ascent and descent operation S1 to S4 by lowering it while rotating so that it approaches the uppermost face of the document when connecting the electromagnetic clutch and raising it while stopping rotation when the electromagnetic clutch is disconnected so that it separates from the uppermost face of the document by smaller amount than descent amount and comes into contact with the uppermost face of the document softly. An elastic member for suppressing load fluctuation of driving electric power caused by connection and disconnection of the electromagnetic clutch and energizing the pick-up roller in the direction of rising when the electromagnetic clutch is disconnected is provided between an electromagnetic clutch side engaging part and a pick-up roller side engaging part of a torque limiter.
