A bearing housing of the type incorporating a substantially sleeve-formed main body (12), with an internal bearing seat (13) for accommodating a bearing, and having at one axial side a radial flange (14) projecting outside the outer wall surface of the main body, and having adjacent its outer edge a number of through-holes (15, 15a) for attachment bolts for fitting the bearing housing to a substantially planar, vertical surface, wherein the through-holes (15a) situated at the side of the flange (14), from which a load acts on the bearing housing, have bigger cross-section than the through-holes (15) arranged at the flange side towards which the load acts, in order to initially direct reaction forces (A) acting on the flange of the bearing housing following a load on the bearing housing to the smaller bore/bores only. |
