A plasma display panel is provided to improve exhaust efficiency by forming protrusions of phosphors on a dielectric layer and a part of barrier ribs which form an exhaust passage between both substrates. A sustain electrode(31) and a scan electrode(32) extend across address electrodes(11), and are opposite to each other to correspond to a discharge cell(17). The sustain electrode and the scan electrode are covered by a dielectric layer(21) to prevent these electrodes against the gas discharge and accumulate wall charges. Protrusions(19a) are formed between the dielectric layer and a protective layer(23) formed on a front substrate(20), and contact barrier ribs(16) formed on a rear substrate(10). The protrusions are made of one or two of red, green and blue phosphors.
