摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact self-ballasted fluorescent lamp capable of improving the luminous efficiency and reducing the discharge starting voltage and the lamp starting voltage and a luminaire. <P>SOLUTION: A compact self-ballasted fluorescent lamp comprises; a cover 3 having a base 2 at one end of the cover body 3a and a mounting end 3b at the other end; a globe 6 having, in the opening end side of the globe to be mounted on the mounting end of the cover, a part 6b whose diameter is smaller than the diameter of the maximum diameter part 4k in the top side of the globe; an arc tube 4 comprising a glass bulb 4g having a pair of electrodes 4i and 4j housed in the globe, wherein the bulb contains a spiral section 4e located in the top side 6d containing the maximum diameter part 6c of the globe and spirally formed so that the spiral diameter is at least partially greater than the diameter of the reduced diameter portion 6b of the globe and straight portions 4f and 4f combined in a body with the spiral section in the reduced diameter side of the globe and equipped with a pair of electrode-sealed ends 4a and 4b which extend along the spiral axis of the spiral section, and the outer diameter D of the bulb in the spiral section is made greater than the outer diameter C of the bulb in the straight portion; and a lighting device 7 enclosed in the cover. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
