A digital broadcasting transmitter and a method for inserting information for demodulation of a receiver thereof are provided to enable the receiver to check information about improvement of receipt performance accurately by inserting the information for demodulation of the receiver into a preliminary area of a field sync signal. A turbo coder(100) performs turbo coding on a transport stream. A field sync signal generator(120) inserts information necessary for modulation of a predetermined receiver into a preliminary area of a field sync signal. A multiplexer(130) forms a data frame by adding a segment sync signal and the field sync signal, into which the information for demodulation of the receiver is inserted, to the turbo-coded transport stream.
