PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of, in an arrangement which houses a side mirror when an image pickup device is desired to be used and houses the image pickup device when the side mirror is used, disabling the image pickup device and the side mirror to be used at the same time, and hence possibly making the rear view confirmation insufficient during use of the image pickup device since the side mirror must be housed when the image pickup device is desired to be used. SOLUTION: There are provided with a mirror by which a driver confirms the rearview of a vehicle, a mirror cover for protecting the mirror, an arm supporting the mirror cover openably and closably, and an image pickup device attached to the arm for imaging around the side of a vehicle as blind spots for the driver. The image pickup device is disposed on an end portion of the arm which undergoes no field-of-view interference by the side mirror and directly receives no sun light. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
