PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To memorize printing data formed by half tone with a small buffer capacity in a printing apparatus in which main scan direction of an ink head is different from the orientation of nozzles. SOLUTION: A data rotation unit 500 of a printing apparatus 100 reads printing data formed as a result of decode processing for every line and performs predetermined address computation to thereby accumulate the data in an image buffer IB in the longitudinal direction for every 8×8-pixel square block. Whenever writing of the square blocks for one train is completed, each square block is subjected to spinning processing.
