A method for controlling condensation in a vapor compression operation is disclosed. The method includes measuring, on a suction side of a compressor, a suction temperature and a suction pressure of a multi-component gaseous mixture flowing through the compressor and also measuring a discharge temperature and a discharge pressure on a discharge side of the compressor. The method further includes determining a partial pressure of a first component of the multi-component gaseous mixture at the suction temperature, determining a partial pressure of the first component at the discharge pressure, and determining a saturation temperature for the first component at the partial pressure of the first component at the discharge pressure. The method also includes comparing the determined saturation discharge temperature with a reference temperature. A system having a compressor and a controller configured to communicate with the compressor and to execute instructions to carry out this method is also disclosed. |
