<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaning device free from the disadvantage possessed by a chemical filter. <P>SOLUTION: This air cleaning device includes a dust removing filter and the photocatalytic unit. The photocatalytic unit is constituted by a permeable photocatalyst substantially containing no boron, so that it has a boron content of 10 μg/g or less after decomposition and evaporation drying of hydrofluoric acid-melting extraction of alkali, in high frequency inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopic analysis.
