A lithium-sulfur battery comprises: a positive electrode including a conductive substance; a lithium metal negative electrode; and an electrolyte including a non-aqueous organic solvent and a lithium salt between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. Provided in the present invention is the lithium-sulfur battery, comprising an interlayer including elemental sulfur (S_8) or lithium sulfide (Li_2S) in an electrolyte region between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. Provided in the present invention is the lithium-sulfur battery, which has high energy density and has an interlayer including an active material with improved capacity.
