<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starting method of a fuel cell using a simple composition and control, which enables an improvement in power generation performance by effectively suppressing a reduction in voltage of unit cells. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell 12 has a stack of a plurality of unit cells 14 in the direction of an arrow A, and is supplied with fuel gas from an end plate 16a on one end of the stack of the unit cells concerning the stacking direction. Open circuit voltage of at least one end cell 14a which is disposed near an end plate 16b on the other end of the stack of the unit cells, is measured. When it is judged that the measured open circuit voltage shows a prescribed value or more, load current is taken out from the fuel cell 12 and the starting of the fuel cell 12 is begun. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
