A column jacket includes an inner jacket and a cylindrical outer jacket which has a slit formed therein and the diameter of which is elastically reducible. A clamp mechanism clamps a pair of sections to be clamped of the outer jacket, causing the outer jacket to clamp the inner jacket such that the inner jacket is immovable in the axial direction X. The slit extends from the opening end thereof, which is formed at a jacket end of the outer jacket, and reaches the closed end of the slit, which is disposed at a predetermined position in the axial direction. The slit has a meandering section between the opening end and the closed end, the meandering section meandering in a wave shape in the circumferential direction. |
