The present invention relates to a cable malfunction position detecting device capable of detecting a malfunction position of a cable by injecting a specific pulse signal into the cable and then detecting and analyzing the signal reflected from the malfunction position. The present invention comprises: a detection signal generating part generating a detection signal injected into the cable; an uninterruptable signal injecting part connected to the cable, and injecting the detection signal, generated from the detection signal generating part, into the cable while power to the cable is not shut down; a reflection signal receiving part receiving a reflection signal reflected from a malfunction point of the cable; a reflection signal processing part removing a noise from the reflection signal and then processing the signal; and a malfunction position determining part determining a malfunction position by comparing the detection signal, injected into the cable and then transmitted, to the reflection signal reflected from the malfunction point of the cable. The detection signal generating part generates a pulse signal in a single waveform or a chirp signal, of which frequency is changed as time goes on, as the detection signal. |
