PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser drive device that can highly accurately detect a scanning position with high costs curbed.SOLUTION: An LD drive circuit 100 is a semiconductor laser drive device that drives a semiconductor laser (LD) as a light source for optical scanning, and the semiconductor laser drive device comprises: transistors Q1 and Q2 that can change over ON/OFF of electrification to the LD, respectively; a pulse generation circuit 1 that periodically outputs a first drive pulse to the transistor Q1 in a first time zone; and a pulse generation circuit 2 that outputs a second drive pulse to the transistor Q2 in a second time zone different from the first time zone.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
