SURFACE-MOUNTED INDUCTOR AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounted inductor having high reliability in connection between an external terminal and the lead-out end of a coil and capable of being inexpensively manufactured, and also to provide a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A surface-mounted inductor includes: a coil 11 formed by winding a conductor; and a compact 12 formed using a resin and a sealing material containing a magnetic material and incorporating the coil 11. The surface of a lead-out end 11b of the coil 11 is exposed and extends to at least the end surface of the compact 12 so as to flush with each surface. To both ends of the compact 12, an external terminal 13 formed by a metal plate is attached across both the end surface of the compact 12 and four surfaces adjacent to the end surfaces. The surface of the lead-out end 11b of the coil 11 and the external terminal 13 are connected to each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
