PURPOSE: A brake pedal for preventing injury of an ankle is provided to protect the ankle of a driver by restricting the ankle of the driver from being sprained by the pedal in moving the engine room into the vehicle room with lifting up the pedal while deploying an airbag at a collision. CONSTITUTION: A brake pedal comprises an upper pedal arm(10) installed in a bracket(3) fixed in a dash panel and turned around a hinge pin(4); a lower pedal arm(20) combined with the upper pedal arm with sliding up and down and integrally composed of a pedal(21) in the lower part; a cylinder(30) installed in the upper pedal arm to lift up the lower pedal arm at a collision; and a compressed air storage unit(40) mounted at the side of the cylinder to supply gas to the cylinder at the collision. Injury of the ankle of the driver is prevented by moving up the pedal at a collision.
