PURPOSE: A method for updating firmware in a mobile communication terminal is provided to simply update firmware of a mobile communication terminal to a new version through an interface with a CP(Contents Provider) server connected through a mobile communication network, thereby preventing any inconvenience of directly visiting a mobile communication provider agency. CONSTITUTION: A mobile communication terminal connects with a CP server(S10). If a firmware update request is received from a user(S11), the terminal transmits mobile phone information to the CP server and transmits firmware version information(S12). The CP server requests a new version of firmware to be transmitted(S13). If the new version of firmware is received(S14), the terminal temporarily stores the firmware in an RAM(S15). The temporarily stored firmware is stored in a nonvolatile memory such as a flash memory(S16). If the updating of the new version of firmware is terminated(S17), the terminal automatically reboots a system to drive the updated firmware(S18). |
