A short section inset into a system of conveyor belts is used to weigh the goods running over it. Further conveyor sections bring the goods to the weighing section and carry them away. At least one of the conveyor sections (11, 13) is so arranged with respect to a following section (13, 14) that one section is loaded and the other unloaded when a greater part of the weighed goods (18) has left the preceding section (11, 13) and moved to the following section (13, 14).
