In a printing press with optional single and double-sided print facility, in which a transfer cylinder has a gripper which grips for the leading edge of the sheet for single-sided work and which grips the trailing edge of the sheet when the sheet has to be turned for perfecting work. The necessary turning of the gripper from the one operating mode to the other is effected by a manually settable screw device (60, 61) which is also connected (91, 92, 55) to effect a corresponding change in the gripper opening and closing device.
