<p>The heat exchanger is used in cooling towers and similar installations and comprises a number of rectangular section conduits (3) spaced apart and parallel to each other. These are used to convey the water which is to be cooled and each conduit is provided internally with rows of baffle plates (6) forming a serpentine circuit (7,8). The air is conveyed through round section tubes (5) which pass through the conduits from side to side, being at 90 deg. to the axis of each conduit. These tubes are plain and have no external finning, but may be provided with internal baffles to produce turbulence.</p> |
