PURPOSE:To economically and efficiently perform the measurement of the roundness of different diameters, by driving a rotary drive apparatus by the quantity corresponding to the difference between the ordered radius corresponding to the measured diameter of an article to be measured and the present radius of a roundness measuring probe. CONSTITUTION:The difference between the present radius of an out-of-roundness measuring probe 222 and the ordered radius ordered on the basis of the shaft diameter or hole diameter of an article to be measured is calculated. Succeedingly, the indicated prove 222 is attached to a measuring main shaft 23 and subsequently moved to the radius adjusting position of a radius adjusting apparatus 104 to judge whether engagement is normal. When engagement is normal, rotation is performed by the quantity corresponding to the aforementioned difference. By this method, because it is unnecessary to preliminarily prepare plurality of roundness measuring probes even if the diameter of the shaft or hole of the article to be measured is different, economical measurement is performed and, because it is unnecessary to replace the probe each time, the measurement of the roundness can be efficiently performed. |
