The invention relates to a pollution-measuring cabin having a base (1), a housing (2) arranged on the base (1), and a pollution-measuring station (3) which is arranged in the housing (2) and has the measuring, evaluating and recording equipment (4 to 12). Said pollution-measuring cabin can be easily set up on the roadside in numerous locations in a specific area, e.g. an urban area, with the result that the true state of pollution can be continuously monitored, if the housing (2) is in the form of an advertising pillar, that is to say it exhibits a pillar body (13), which is arranged in an upright manner in the base (1) and is in the form of a cylinder casing, and a roof (14) which terminates the upper end of the pillar body (13), the outer side of said pillar body (13) is designed to have a smooth surface for attaching bills and notices, and provision is made, in the pillar body (13), of a door (15) which allows access into the interior of said pillar body (13). The fundamental idea for the teaching of the invention is to utilise, as a pollution-measuring cabin, a customary object which is common in a townscape and is found in numerous locations in an urban area, namely an advertising pillar. Consequently, on the one hand, roadside measuring points for pollution-measuring cabins are obtained and, on the other hand, the frequent problems with construction supervising authorities can be systematically avoided since these authorities cannot object to existing advertising pillars being utilised as pollution-measuring cabins or being replaced by advertising pillars which are specially equipped as pollution-measuring cabins. <IMAGE>
