Process for the preparation of liquid-absorbent acrylic resins

A process for the preparation of liquid-absorbent, crosslinked acrylic resins by polymerisation of a solution of the monomers which has been neutralised to the extent of from 60 to 100%, in which an N-containing, thermally decomposable blowing agent is additionally added either before or after the polymerisation in order to increase the degree of neutralisation to from 102 to 140%.
