A centrifugal pump has in a pump housing (1) a pump space, away from which there lead two exit channels (4, 5) directed in opposite directions and in which an impeller (3) is rotatably mounted. In order to be able to deliver to an outlet in a manner independent of the direction of rotation, the exit channels (4, 5) merge into a common discharge stub (6), the exit channels being assigned a blocking element (11) which, during the preferred delivery of fluid through one of the exit channels (4 or 5), closes the other exit channel (5 or 4) in the backflow direction. <IMAGE>
