PURPOSE:To provide the title derivative useful as a catalyst for producing an aromatic fluorine compound by halogenating a crosslinked (alpha-alkyl) polystyrene and reacting the halogenated product with triphenylphosphine in the presence of a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:The title polymer-immobilized tetrakisarylphosphonium salt derivative is represented by formula I (wherein formula II is a polymer support derived from polystyrene or alpha-alkylpolystyrene; Ar is a phenyl or a substituted phenyl; and X<1> is a halogen atom). By reacting a halogenated aromatic compound of formula III (wherein X<2> is a halogen atom; n is 1.5; and Y is a cyano, a nitro, a trifluoromethyl, a formyl or the like) with an alkali metal fluoride by using a compound of formula I as a catalyst, an aromatic fluorine compound represented by formula IV (wherein Z is a cyano, a nitro, a trifluoromethyl or the like; m is 1-5; p is 0-4; and m+p=n) and being useful as an intermediate for the production of pharmaceuticals can be produced in good efficiency. |
